On my Radar- Links

Sabaki River Hotel
A small budget residence alongside the Sabaki River estuary and delta.

Ideally situated for birders- just a short walk away are thousands of shorebirds, flamingoes, gulls and terns, a veritable feast for the eyes and the notebook.

The owner Rodgers Karabu and his son Mtawali can point you to the best places and birds and make all guests really welcome. Accommodation is either in the house or "safari" style tents.

Hippo come ashore at night to forage and sometimes the only sound is the wind blowing across the enormous sand dunes. It's a spellbinding off the beaten track option for those that want to get away from the regular tourist trail.
